We have an exciting opportunity within our Assets Department for an experienced Head of Quantity Surveyor based in our Stratford HQ.  

You will be responsible for ensuring the evaluation and measurement of works and variations within the contracted scope. You will undertake periodic valuations of works in progress as required and ensure the certificates for payment are prepared as required. Managing and reporting on Budgets will be second nature to you as you will monitor expenditure and manage all third party funding arrangements such as Network Rail. You will prepare project budgets and detailed estimates and cost plans as necessary during development to meet financial targets. You will analyse unit cost management and benchmark for reporting as required, including preparation to provide cost information to the “GA Long” bid team. You will prepare final accounts, including validation of contractor submissions by measurement and quantification. You will review and implement improvements in commercial and contract strategies and processes and consult with Head of Procurement as necessary. You will input data related to contracts into the company’s project management reporting system. You will provide support to the Asset Team HSQE either through the direct reporting of recognised safety non-conformances.

Your exceptional communication skills, teamed with your previous extensive supplier management experience will see you develop and enhance relationships internally with other departments and with suppliers to maximize contractor’s performance. Previous experience of preparing tenders, pricing and contract documentation is a must as is carrying out cost analysis of tenders.
