We have an opportunity for a responsible and safe Shunter at Cambridge to join the team.

Responsible for the safe and efficient working of all movements and shunting within Cambridge Carriage Sidings and other locations under the instructions of the Carriage Siding Supervisor.

You will liaise with Train Crew, Signallers and other staff on matters relating to working within Cambridge Carriage Siding, using safe radio protocols where appropriate. In addition you will operate the machinery which empties the controlled emission tanks from toilets on various types of trains and control the train movements for washing of trains. Carrying out various other duties to maintain standard documentation, security, and good standards of cleanliness within the Carriage Sidings are also central to this role.

You will have a flexible approach to work as the role is covering night shifts with weekend and bank holiday working.

A good standard of literacy and clear communication skills are paramount and an interest in continuous learning by undertaking initial training and updated training as and when required will be subject to assessment in the role.
