Project Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a project engineer to fulfil the role of interface engineer (systems) within the NEW East Anglian Trains (NEAT) project within Greater Anglia.

The role, reporting to the Chief Projects Engineer, is to support the technical development of an integrated systems capability focusing on infrastructure elements. To support the infrastructure systems integration, including Digital Rail elements where necessary, of the programme and link to Network Rail Route duty holders and technical authority in order to achieve safety and security approvals.

Main Duties:

To support the integration of the infrastructure requirements, including safety, security, legislation and development maturity to facilitate the timely delivery of the NEAT programme benefits within acceptable industry risk profiles. Provide professional engineering support for the system integration, engineering, safety and security activity being implemented as part of the NEAT programme.

You will support the interface to the design authority for the railway systems scope of the NEAT Programme, whilst supporting the interaction with Network Rail approval bodies and other stakeholders on infrastructure systems and technical issues associated with the NEAT Programme.

Assist the interface for Digital Rail (DR) development and delivery activities, the representation of interests of Greater Anglia New Fleet Programme on any external technical standards and system groups associated with technical integration activities.

Provide technical support to the NEAT programme infrastructure delivery elements. Support the liaison with the other NEAT Programme workstreams, including support to milestone delivery of those workstreams, to provide an integrated infrastructure technology and information solution.

What we are looking for:

The applicants must be educated to degree level in an accredited engineering field and ideally working toward Chartered engineering status. Experience of systems engineering within a railway field and in the construction and presentation of safety cases is required. They will be expected to assist in all aspects of infrastructure delivery elements of the NEAT team.
